My power bill spiked, will a florescent light that was on 24/7 for 3 weeks double my bill?
Doubled meaning it went from $260 to $535 in one single month. the only think different this month was I got a pool table installed, then changed the fan for a pool light with 2 florescent lights which were on for 3 straight weeks because i didn't have a switch hooked to it. Other than that, I can't tell what it could be.

Check your previous bill. The utilities will send out "estimated" bills if they don't get the meter read in time. When they do get an accurate reading, the next bill may jump. Example, if your prior bill was estimated based on usage prior to turning on the A/C, it would not have accurately reflected the usage and will be low. When they do get an accurate reading, the usage not billed prior will show up all at once.
That happened at our local utility except they didn't get a reading for months. When they finally did, people owed big bucks. The local politicians stepped in and had the utility spread it out over several months.
